Being flexible brings positive benefits to your muscles and joints. Improving and increasing
your flexibility can improve your quality of life, and functional movements, a simple task such
as doing your shoelaces can be performed with less effort with better flexibilty. It is best to
stretch when your muscles are warm, so do some light activity to get your blood flowing
through your muscles before you stretch them. Try to avoid bouncing your stretching, instead
hold the movement still for approximately 30 seconds. A stretch should feel a slight discomfort
rather than unbearable pain.
