WELCOME TO WHOLE VIBRATION TRAINING!

You may have seen it on the television recently. The latest research in vibration training. Whole vibration

training was developed by the Russians to meet  the exercise needs of their cosmonauts in a zero gravity

environment.  Since then vibration machines began t o appear in hospitals and various medical and

rehabilitation clinics. Clinical studies revealed shorter recovery times for joint and muscle injuries and

other studies found whole body vibration improved flexibility and stability.

It has recently expanded into the fitness industry for time poor clients, athletes and those wanting to

complement their existing exercise regimes. It has been documented for athletes to have increased

strength, balance, speed  and endurance and experience swifter recovery from fatigue and reduce lactic

acid build up.

With conventional training, we contract and relax our muscles for a certain amount of reps and sets with

some sort of resistance or load, either by using weights, body weight eg: push ups. With whole vibration

training you can induce muscle contractions up to 28 times per second. This is why a full workout on a

vibration platform can be achieved in a very short period of time and also why you should not exceed the

recommended workout durations.
